I love listening to music! When I am hard at work, my pace becomes attuned to the rhythms of my music. At home, my favorite songs help me to relax. Singing along is fun and makes me feel good.
Singing gives me energy. I feel optimistic and view the world with greater clarity. Dancing has the same effect. Simply moving my body to a rhythm relieves stress.
I may look silly sometimes, but I always feel good inside.
Sometimes, I just listen. The old and familiar tunes of my childhood trigger fond memories. I reminisce as each song brings forth a new wave of nostalgia. Occasionally, I make connections of the present with the past. I discover new avenues to completing objectives.
I like keeping a melody in my head. At work, it may be inappropriate for me to listen to music, so I listen to some music that I really enjoy on the way to work. The chorus or a particular riff tends to stick in my mind, accompanying me throughout the day.
Today, I keep my mind open to many different kinds of music.
Sometimes what I hear sparks conversation with others. Other times, I uncover a new band or song that I was previously unaware of. Regardless of my song choice of the moment, though, listening to music always uplifts me!
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. What aspects of particular music genres or artists do I enjoy?
2. What is the value of sharing music with others?
3. How else does music help me to relax?
